First Sevenoaks Business Show a Resounding Success

The first Sevenoaks Business Show at The Stag Plaza conference venue on Wednesday 24th March was a resounding success, according to exhibitors and over a 150 delegates who attended from all over Kent.

The event was hosted by The Stag Community Arts Centre which is managed by Sevenoaks Town Council, and was held in association with Sevenoaks & District Chamber of Commerce. There were 32 exhibitors including Business Link Kent and local companies of different sizes. An expert panel consisted of business consultants from Barclays Corporate, Business Link Kent, Versheena HR, Warners Solicitors, Eightoaks, Chevening Financial, Opus Network Services and Acorn Recruitment.

Several companies took the opportunity to launch new services and products at the show and there were demonstrations, sampling and show only offers providing delegates with valuable savings and ideas for their businesses. Catering was provided by The Stag Plaza, showcasing a sample of its business menus.

Commenting about their participation in the business exhibition, Hannah Griffin from Ditto Print Services said: “The Sevenoaks Business Show was a very successful day for us. I had one lady come to talk to me with a brief for her new leaflets in hand, ready to place an order there and then! We've got lots of really strong and positive leads to follow up on which is exactly what you'd hope for from exhibiting at a business show. One particular strong point in our day was meeting a new client who had travelled over from Oxted to say hello - a perfect opportunity for him to meet other local businesses too. He was very impressed with the event!”

Geoff Newman, MD from Acorn Recruitment said: “We have just picked up £2,000 worth of business this morning and are very pleased with the event. It is so much better than other shows we have attended recently.”

Roger Nunn from The Dianetics Centre in Tunbridge Wells said: “We really enjoyed the Business Show today. It was buzzing from the start with a good steady stream of people throughout the day. For us it generated lots of interest and gave us a great opportunity to network and inform business people and companies as to what we do. We took orders and look forward to receiving our own feedback from people we met. Definitely a well worthwhile day and very professionally run. We look forward to next time.”

Linda Larter, Chief Executive said: “Since opening the Stag Community Arts Centre just over a year ago local businesses have been very supportive of the venue. We are delighted that this interaction has been extended in the form of the business show which was very successful for all who participated.”

Bookings for the next event in March 2011 are already being taken with plans for companies to sponsor workshops in adjoining meeting rooms.
